In case of a damage

Exploring Norway with one of our camper vans should stay in your memories as an amazing time and adventure. But of course unfortunate things can happen. No matter if it´s your fault or somebody else cause a damage - everybody involved just hopes that would have never happened. But it does. So, let´s face it and handle it straight forward. Here is how we are dealing with the damage documentation before your rental, damage assessment and your self risk fee.

1.) Book the right insurance with your camper

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) - included

The CDW insurance is our standard insurance and is free of costs. It is the so called "Risk Takers" choice. With this insurance you have a self risk fee of 16.000 NOK per incident. We will charge you a deposit payment of 16.000 NOK when you are picking up the camper van at our rental station. In case of an damage or by use of road side assistance we will use this deposit to pay your self risk fee.

Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) - optional

The SCDW insurance is optional and can be added to your camper van booking. You will have a self risk fee of 7.500 NOK per incident. With the SCDW you will also have 24/7 roadside assistance free of charge. If you have chosen this type of insurance we will take a deposit payment of 7.500 NOK at your camper picking up. In case of an damage we will use this deposit to pay your self risk fee.

Travel Safe - optional

The Travel Safe insurance is our optional insurance which gives you the lowest self risk fee. In case of an incident you will be charge not more then 2.000 NOK. The Travel Safe also includes free 24/7 road side assistance.  If you have chosen this type of insurance we will take a deposit payment of 2.000 NOK at your camper picking up. In case of an damage we will use this deposit to pay your self risk fee.

Of course you are able to upgrade the type of insurance when you are picking up your camper van.

2.) Acknowledge of existing damages

When you pick up the camper van, all damages are already documented. We also took pictures of the damages, so feel free to do so yourself. With signing the rental agreement you confirm the state and condition of your camper van before hire.

3.) Returning the camper van

If you return the camper van in the agreed conditions, we will release your deposit after 10 days from the day of your camper return.

In case of damage

In case of an insurance claim, a damage report must be filled out. You will find the damage report in the glove box of your camper, if not we will provide you with a damage report on your arrival. If you do not fill out a damage report, which is required by the insurance company you leave it to us and we will use your deposit to regulate the damage.

Damage assessment

Damage assessments will be carried out either by an insurance-certified automotive workshop or our rental and repair service, Nordiac AS Damage Assessment. The assessment location will be determined by the camper rental company, with a priority on cost-effectiveness. After the assessment, an invoice for your camper reservation will encompass the repair costs for any sustained damage. These charges will remain within the deductible amount specified in your insurance plan. The deposit you provided will be applied to cover these expenses.

Good to be aware!

On your camper trip you might encounter very windy weather. This strong winds are often causing wind damages to the cars. When you are opening the camper door in windy conditions hold on to door, so it does not get slammed by the wind. This is a damage we experience very often.
