Morgedal - a wild camp spot in the middle of great ski history. From this place are the pioneers of modern skiing. For this reason 1994 the Olympic fire was inflamed here, before it made its travel around the world. You will find a parking just off the main road beside a lake with a toilet. You will have a nice peaceful view over the lake into the small town of Morgedal. Another fact about this small village: Olav Bjaaland came from here, he was a Norwegian ski champion and polar explorer. He was one of the first men reaching the South Pole with the expedition of Amundsen in 1911.
