Kjosen Lyngen Alps
Wild Campsite
Accessibility: summer
If you missed the connection ferry or you want to spend a night before going further, this might be a good camp spot to stay. Follow the track down to the shore line from the main road. The road becomes only busy when the ferries has arrived, in the day time that is once an hour. In the evenings it is rather quite. From this place you have great view into the surrounding mountains. You also look into a shrunken glacier; which have crumbled many big rocks to small stones. The Lyngen Alps still has 104 glacier, some big and many small once. A small river is passing by, which is providing you with fresh water. To fire up the fireplace you should collect some wood on the other side of the road. At least that was a good place, where we found some dry wood. Maybe also important to mention: their is a stone pit some 100 meters away which takes that place some premium points - but it is adding some steam-punk points :) - Enjoy.
On our second stay at this camp spot, we found a great spot to hang out. Follow the coast line towards south until it turns. You will get to a fireplace on a big rock. From here you will have an open view towards the mountain with the melted glacier and you can also fish in the torquise water. You are also far away from the road - excellent place.
