Salen is the hill right above Hammerfest. The marked path takes you about 3,9 km from the town, climbing about 160 metres to about 145 metres above the sea. Plan about 3 hours both ways.
The walk starts from a car park in the town. In winter the zigzag path from Salen down to the town centre can be dangerous because of snow and ice.
