An indication, not a promise: aurora activity over this place (NOAA) times the clear sky in the best three-hour window of the night (MET Norway). The next nights rest on the Kp forecast only. More: our Northern Lights Forecast and the Northern Lights Map.

A marked path of about 9 km leads from Mehamn out to Smørbringen, over open, treeless ground. It goes up and down along the way: about 370 metres of climbing out, about 190 metres at the highest point. Plan about 7 hours both ways. The trail is graded Red: demanding.
The walk starts from a car park in Mehamn. The coast here is very exposed to wind and fog, so bring warm clothes, food and water, and turn back if the weather closes in.
