1 / 3Henrikafossen (also written Henrikkafossen) falls about 250 metres down the north-facing mountainside of Spansdalen in Lavangen, Troms. In winter it freezes into tall columns of ice and is a well-known goal for ice climbers.
Where to stop: the pin marks the car park at Holmeveien 34 in Tennevoll, the only parking for the Midnight Sun Stairs (Midnattsoltrappa). Don't stop on the road to look at the falls. From the car park it is 0,6 km to the stairs, 0,8 km up the 2.117 steps (368 metres of climbing) and another 0,8 km to the falls – about 2,5 km each way.
Good to know when travelling by camper: the stairs and the path are a summer walk; in snow and ice they are slippery. Ice climbing is for experienced climbers with their own equipment or a guide.
