Tromsø International Film Festival, TIFF, takes over the city's cinemas for a week every January, in the middle of the Arctic winter. One of its screening venues is Verdensteatret in Storgata, a historic cinema where the festival also runs the cinematheque.
A winter road trip from Tromsø and a few evenings at the festival go well together: films by day, and a drive out of the city lights for the northern lights at night.
