The Tromsø area is one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights. All of our camper guests who have come to hunt the Aurora Borealis have been successful so far. This success can be attributed to the advantages of having a camper van. With a camper van, you can relocate your "hotel" to areas where the sky is clear and free from artificial light, ensuring an undisturbed view. Stay in the warm camper to check for Northern Lights activity

When searching for the Northern Lights, it's essential to be outside as often as possible to watch for Aurora activity. With the dome, you can eliminate the step of getting dressed and stepping outside the van to scan the sky. This is a significant advantage as you may need to do this multiple times throughout the night. The Northern Lights season in Norway can be windy and cold, with temperatures in winter reaching around -10 degrees Celsius or even lower. Simply turn off the lights in the van, put your head into the dome, and observe the night sky for Northern Lights activity. If nothing is happening, you can continue reading your book and enjoy a cup of tea.

Yes, you could also look through a window, but you might miss the Aurora that is occurring directly above you. Being as far north as we are in Lofoten and Tromsø, the Northern Lights can appear in any direction of the sky. The Aurora Dome provides you with a complete 360-degree view of the night sky. With the dome, you can be certain that you have inspected every angle above you for activity.

Getting too cold outside to watch the Aurora for long? Just continue from the inside

Sometimes, the Northern Lights can be visible almost all night long. While you will certainly want to go outside to fully enjoy the experience once you spot them, staying in the cold indefinitely is not ideal. The dome provides the perfect solution to continue your Northern Lights viewing comfortably. Simply grab a warm drink and continue watching the Aurora at a cozy +20°C from the inside.

Sleeping under the Aurora and the night sky

Is there anything better than falling asleep with a view of the stars above you? The dome is positioned right above your pillow, providing a direct view from your bed into the sky. Additionally, the dome has its own heat pipe to ensure it remains free of ice and condensation.

He was chasing the Aurora Borealis in the Northern Norwegian wilderness for the TV show he is producing. Our Aurora Dome Camper is ready to book

The Aurora Dome Camper is exclusively available at our Tromsø rental station. The daily rental price is 1,590 kr. The camper comes equipped with a kitchen (stove, fridge, sink, pots and pans, etc.), a large bed (150cm x 200cm), a 2kW Diesel parking heater, an additional battery, unlimited mileage, USB ports, and spiked winter tires. The camper provides sleeping and seating space for up to 3 passengers. The dome features its own heater pipe to ensure it remains free of ice and condensation.
