Fuel, EV Charging and Gas in Norway

Every petrol station and charger on our map

Our free Camper Guide shows them all on one map:

• Every petrol station in Norway, with the brand.

• Every public EV charger in Norway, Sweden and Finland – more than 16.000 charging stations – with the operator, plug types, power and how you pay, and live status: you see whether a charging point is free right now.

• Gas bottle dealers.

Paying for fuel

Many petrol stations along the main roads are open 24 hours, and some chains, such as Uno-X, are unmanned: you pay by card at the pump. The pump places a hold on your card, which your bank releases afterwards. Current fuel prices: the app Drivstoffappen.

Which fuel?

• Check the fuel type on the tank cap and in your rental documents.

• Diesel in Norway contains a little biodiesel, which normal diesel engines are approved for.

• Never fill coloured diesel (anleggsdiesel or avgiftsfri diesel, for tractors and machines). It is not allowed in campers. If you fill it by mistake, report it to the Norwegian Tax Administration at once – if it is found without being reported, the charge is 20.000 NOK for vehicles up to 3.500 kg. Source: Skatteetaten.

• Petrol 95 contains up to 10 % ethanol (E10); 98 without ethanol is sold at some stations.

Long distances

In the mountains and in Northern Norway, petrol stations can be far apart. Fill up before mountain passes and long empty stretches, and never let the tank run low in winter – in a convoy you may stand still for a long time.

Charging the EV Camper

Our EV Camper ID. Buzz charges at public chargers. Most fast chargers use the CCS plug, with the cable attached to the charger. Fast chargers (50 kW or more) ordered since July 2023 must accept bank cards; at many other chargers you pay with an app or a charging tag.

Book a charging tag together with your EV Camper: with it you start and pay at almost all chargers in Norway, Sweden and Finland, and after your rental we charge you for what you used. More in our FAQ.

Gas bottles

The most common camper gas in Norway is AGA propane, sold through more than 2.000 dealers. You can also buy gas bottles at our stations in Tromsø and at Oslo Airport, where we are an official AGA dealer.
